The Queen: From The Queue

I was moved as were millions of us by the historic funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in this year of 2022.

I thought of many who could not get to London for the Lying in State and “the queue”. One of several reasons to paint and offer heartfelt Limited Editions for sale. Two pictures show images seen by the queue. The other two pictures show her entering Buckingham Palace for the last time and passing the revered Cenotaph built during her Grandfathers reign and unveiled by George V on 11th November 1920.

As an artist in general and British artist in particular I wanted to capture the sheer colour of symbolic uniforms and the vivid views and scenes of historic heraldry governed by the College of Arms since the 15th century.

What a history we have! Unique to our country the world over. Our current constitution being evolved over a thousand years.
